Health & Safety

Healthy food, exercise, and safe and sanitary environments are the cornerstones of well-being. Our health and safety programs and practices provide the environment and support needed for your children to thrive.

Growing children having changing needs and our health and nutrition program is designed to meet those needs.

We also provide options for children with special dietary needs or restrictions. During the Collaborative Care Planning session, please provide us with any special requests that we need to accommodate.

Meals

All meals are served family-style. Children receive at least 3 servings of vegetables and fruits during the day. Nutritious snack are provided in the morning and afternoon.

Beverages

Water is provided with every meal and snack and at children’s request.
Low fat milk is provided for children ages 2 and above. No more than two naturally sweetened beverages are served each day.

We collaborate with families on your baby’s nutritional care and needs by working with formula and breastfeeding families to create continuity.

Children participate in daily exercise using our indoor and outdoor playgrounds. We also offer dance and yoga classes on-site each week.

Safe Buildings and Grounds

Fontanelle Academy partners with security professionals to provide a secure learning environment in which your child will feel safe, comfortable, and nurtured. Our safety preparations include regular training for faculty and staff, safety plans and drills, and security equipment throughout the premises.

Our facility has camera monitored, restricted access. We also meet or exceed fire, health department, and school safety zone requirements.

Our playground areas and equipment meet or exceed safety standards, including protective surfacing in fall zones and security fencing.

We meet or exceed state and national safety standards for infants and children by equipping all classrooms with age-appropriate furniture, equipment, and toys.

Hygiene

Hygiene practices are key to keeping children well. Our faculty, staff, and children (taught by faculty and staff) adhere to high standards of hygiene required by our handwashing policy.

Our faculty and staff clean and disinfect all desks, toys, and communal areas throughout the day and at the close of each day to prevent the spreading of germs.
