Why Choose Fontanelle Academy?

Founded by a Career/Stay-at-Home Mom/Lifelong Educator

Fontanelle Academy of Early Learning was founded by Dr. Cynthia Cole. As a young mother, Dr. Cole was a university professor of teacher education with a non-traditional work schedule. Her work day was not 9 to 5; and during summers, she was a stay-at-home mom.

As a career-minded, working mother she needed child care services, but wanted to spend as much time as possible with her daughter. As a teacher of teachers, she understood the importance of a quality education and the need for children to socialize with one another; yet struggled to find child care centers that offered both quality and flexibility. It is her experience as both a career/stay-at-home mom and educator that has resulted in the program services of Fontanelle Academy. The center offers full-day and part-time services, as well as a cooperative, flexible family share service (see more under Educate/Our Programs) designed to accommodate the needs of today’s families.

Cynthia found the balance that many career families, with non-traditional/flex schedules, and families with stay-at-home parents seek. She went on to become a tenured professor, administrator of a university teacher preparation program, and Senior Policy Advisor at The U.S. Department of Education. However, she’s most proud of her daughter, Payton.

Dr. Cole is the Executive Director of Fontanelle Academy and is on-site and actively engaged in the care, teaching, and training of the faculty and staff.

National Accreditation

Fontanelle Academy of Early Learning is accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Association (NECPA). Accreditation serves a number of important functions. It verifies that an early childhood program meets established standards of excellence. This certification is an acknowledgment to the program that they are providing high quality child care. Further, this designation assists parents in selecting child care by identifying programs that meet high quality standards.
